English literature

Are you an avid reader of English novels, poems, and essays?

Or a beginner who wants to know where to start reading?

I began reading English literature at secondary school and never stopped (with thanks to Inke Dam-Knook). I studied English at Utrecht University (more reading!) and wrote my PhD dissertation about the English writer A.S. Byatt there. I subsequently became a university lecturer in English literature . I have thoroughly enjoyed talking with other people about English literature for more than 30 years now.
